A day-long workshop titled “Cerebral Palsy: An Update” was held at Shaheed Milon Hall of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University on 22 April 2018. BSMMU vice-chancellor Prof Dr Kanak Kanti Barua inaugurated the event.

Addressing the inaugural session of the workshop, Prof Kanak said this kind of workshop is very much essential to share the experience on Cerebral Palsy diseases, its current situation and remedy.

Institute of Paediatric Neurodisorder and Autism (IPNA) of the BSMMU in association with International Child Neurology Association (ICNA) organized the workshop. Addressing the programme world renowned child neurologist Prof Dr Pratibha Singhi from India, Dr Harleen Uppal from India, Dr Biju Hameed from UK and IPNA director Prof Dr Shaheen Akhter put forward the important information about disease.

Dr Shaheen Akhter said till now, they provided treatment to 11,000 Cerebral Palsy patients.
