Preparatory Course on Autism for KOICA Fellowship Program Inaugurated by Saima Wazed Hossain Putul
(IPNA,BSMMU, 16 October, 2017): A five-day long preparatory course on autism spectrum disorder for the 2017 KOICA autism fellowship program has been kicked-off today at IPNA seminar room, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) premises.
The training program was inaugurated by the daughter of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and world renowned autism specialist, world autism champion Saima Wazed Hossain along with vice-chancellor of BSMMU Prof. Dr. Kamrul Hasan Khan and project director of IPNA Prof. Dr. Shaheen Akhter.
The program is hosted and facilitated by the Institute of Paediatric Neurodisorder and Autism (IPNA) supported by Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) Bangladesh Office and developed and delivered by Shuchona Foundation, Bangladesh.
KOICA has been supporting Bangladesh in the field of autism spectrum disorder from 2012 by offering knowledge sharing fellowship program titled “Multi-year Competency Enhancement of Diagnosis and Treatment of ASD for Child in Bangladesh”.
A total of 15 participants from different ministries and autonomous govt. bodies have been nominated by the Health Services Division under ministry of Health and Family Welfare, People’s Republic of Bangladesh for the fellowship this year .

(IPNA, 22 September 2017): A two-day long “8th Early Intervention and Home Management Training for Parents of Children with Autism” held at IPNA seminar room, BSMMU from 20-21 September 2017 for Parents of Children with Autism. The aim of the training is to develop the knowledge and skills of the parents in managing children with autism and their challenging behaviors.
IPNA’s internal doctors, teachers and therapists facilitate the training session on different topics. More than 55 parents with their children coming from different places of the country were participated in the training.
