Two Day Long 6th Early Intervention Training held at IPNA, BSMMU

A two day long '6th Early Intervention and Home Management Training for Parents  of Children with Autism' has been inaugurated Tuesday 26th November 2016 at IPNA seminar room in BSMMU organized by the Institute of Paediatric Neurodisorder and Autism (IPNA). The aim of the training is to activate the parents more in home management for their children with autism.

অটিজম বিষয়ক বাংলাদেশের জাতীয় উপদেষ্টা পরিষদের সভাপতি সায়মা ওয়াজেদ হোসেন ‘ইউনেস্কো-আমির জাবের আল-আহমদ আল-সাবাহ পুরস্কার’র আন্তর্জাতিক জুরি বোর্ডের সভাপতি নির্বাচিত হয়েছেন।

বুধবার প্যারিসে বাংলাদেশ দূতাবাসের এক সংবাদ বিজ্ঞপ্তিতে এ তথ্য জানানো হয়।

উন্নত ডিজিটাল প্রযুক্তি ব্যবহারের মাধ্যমে প্রতিবন্ধী জনগোষ্ঠীর জীবনযাত্রা উন্নয়নে উল্লেখযোগ্য অবদান রাখা ব্যক্তি বা প্রতিষ্ঠানকে স্বীকৃতি দেওয়ার জন্য ‘ইউনেস্কো-আমির জাবের আল-আহমদ আল-সাবাহ’ পুরস্কার চালু হয়। কুয়েতের অর্থ সহযোগিতায় পরিচালিত এই পুরস্কারের অর্থমূল্য ২০ হাজার মার্কিন ডলার, যা একজন ব্যক্তি ও একটি প্রতিষ্ঠানকে দেওয়া হয়।

The inauguration of two-day long international ‘ICNA Educational Meeting’ on Child Neurology and Development held at 6.00 pm on 4 November 2016 at a local hotel in Cox’s Bazar, Bangladesh. The meeting is organized jointly by the Institute of Paediatric Neurodisorder and Autism (IPNA) in Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University and International Child Neurology Association (ICNA). The meeting will continue 5-6 November 2016 focusing the exchange of knowledge, updated scientific presentations and discussions on best practice in child neurology and development.

The aim of the training is to activate the parents more in home management for their children with autism.

KOICA officials visit IPNA

A group of Korean International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) led by Mr. Joe Hyun-Gue, Country Director, KOICA-Bangladesh Office visited the Institute of Paediatric Neurodisorder and Autism (IPNA) in Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) on Thursday 1 September 2016.

The Team delighted to see the activities of IPNA, especially IPNA School. They also had an interaction with some children of IPNA School.

Nasim urges the rich to help treatment for autism

Health and Family Welfare Minister Mohammad Nasim yesterday urged the affluent people in the society to come forward along with the government to reach health-care facilities for autism treatment, reports BSS.

“Well-off people of the society to come forward to help the government to reach health facilities to autistic people... they (the Rich) can also build hospitals for the children with autism as they are establishing garments factories, hotels and other industries."

A three-day long Spasticity Management Training for child development therapists held in Dhaka from 23 to 25 April 2016 organised by the Institute of Paediatric Neurodisorder and Autism (IPNA) in Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University aiming to manage spasticity in children and others disability like down syndrome, haemophilia etc.

Around 30 child development therapists coming from different govt. medical colleges and special schools participated in this training.

The institute of paediatric Neurodisoder and Autism (IPNA) in Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University organized a cultural event in order to celebrate the 9th World Autism Awareness Day on 17 April, 2016.

Minister of Cultural Affairs Mr. Asaduzzaman Noor, MP was the chief guest at the event along with Syed Monjurul Islam, secretary, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare as the special guest. The event was presided over by Prof. Dr. Kamrul Hasan Khan, vice-chancellor of BSMMU.

World Down Syndrome Day 21st March 2016 has been observed with a colorful rally, shishumela, and a scientified seminar at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University campus organized by the Institute of Paediatric Neurodisorder and Autism (IPNA) in BSMMU.

This year's slogan is: 'Amar Bondhu, Aamar Samaj; Poribesh Shobar Ekibhutho, Ajker Shishu Balobeshe, Anbe Shufol Sobar Sheshe' which may be translated as "MyFriendsMyCommunity - The benefits of inclusive environments for today's children and tomorrow's adults.

At 9.30 in the morning, a colorful rally started from IPNA centre with the children with Down Syndrome. Prof. Dr. Kamrul Hasan Khan, honourable vice-chancellor of Bangabandhu Sheikh Muib Medical University led the rally along with Prof. Dr. Mizanur Rahman, Professor of Paediatric Neurology Dept., BSMMU, and Prof. Dr. Shaheed Akhter, Professor of Paediatric Neurology Dept, BSMMU & Project Director, IPNA, BSMMU and others.

Asian Epilepsy Academy (ASEPA) and Institute of Paediatric Neurodisorder and Autism in Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University have jointly organized a two-day long ‘ASEPA EEG and Paediatric Epilepsy Symposium and workshop’ on 4-5 March, 2016 at IPNA seminar room, BSMMU. The aim of the program is to enhance the knowledge on EEG and Paediatric Epilepsy for the doctors and professionals working in this field.
